In the last couple of years many more people have been sending parcels through the post as they have either not been able to meet up with friends and family on birthdays and anniversaries or have been buying and selling online however the cost of posting items can be pricey so how can the average person cut down on these costs?
Some people do not realise that postage rates are not just calculated on the basis of weight but also on the dimensions of the parcel therefore you need to be clever when it comes to packaging your parcel. Instead of using newspaper or wadding as a way of protecting the contents of the parcel try using a small amount of light-weight bubble-wrap. Another idea is to consider using a large, padded envelope or plastic bag instead of a box to hold the contents of your parcel. Obviously, you want your parcel to reach its destination in one piece so whichever method you choose to wrap your deliveries, the safety and security of the item has to come first so always make sure that the packaging is sturdy enough to cope with the postal process. Putting your name as the sender on the rear of the parcel means that should the front label be damaged it can be returned to you.
