More and more shops are now letting you purchase products online. When you place an order online, you want to know that the order has been successful and also try and track the order through the process of being generated to being delivered.
Some companies will offer this as standard on all orders and others will only offer this option if you create an account with them.
You may find that you get more repeat business if you allow customers to track orders with ease, or even if you send them a simple email confirming the status of their order. Depending on how far you go, you may want to allow the customer to be able to alter or cancel their order through an online system as well.
It may be easier to build this system in to your website from the start, but if not then don’t despair as websites can usually be amended at a later date to accommodate new functionality.
It is always recommended to offer your customers a mailing upgrade such as next day delivery, if possible as this will often tempt people in who require their order quickly.
